Retro Cards Gallery

The images in the Retro Cards Gallery are filled with whimsy and humor. These designs are usually inspired by an old photograph or vintage postcard that sparks a creative idea. Friendship and love, fun in the sun, animal pals, and the Aloha Spirit are some of my favorite themes. These cards definitely are a blast from the past!

Retro Collage Card
The retro collage cards provide funny, nostalgic snapshots of life in simpler times.
They come standard with a caption on the front, as shown above.
They are blank inside unless ordered with an optional inside message.

I also offer a line of cards featuring hand-tinted, vintage snapshots. The originals are black-and-white photographs from my personal collection of old photos. I carefully restore the snapshots using digital techniques, then hand-tint them to add color and vitality to the shot. These images are fun, and the silly captions add the final touch that sets each card apart.

I do most of my work in Adobe Photoshop, using materials including snippets from old post cards and snapshots, pieces of my own photographs, swatches of vintage fabric, photo clip-art, and other odd-and-ends.

The greeting cards and art prints available on this site are high-quality digital reprints of the collages.

Photo Cards Gallery

I've been taking photographs for most of my life. In the Photo Cards Gallery, you will find a selection of real photo cards featuring some of my favorites. The pictures capture quiet moments on overseas trips, beautiful gardens and flowers, and portraits of special friends. An actual 4- x 6-inch glossy photograph is mounted on the front of the card.

The photo cards make wonderful gifts and can be used as stationery

for writing notes to special friends. A glossy 4- x 6-inch photograph

from the artist's portfolio is mounted on the front of each card.

The cards are blank inside. The location where the photograph was taken

is noted on the back of the card.

Magnets and Bookmarks

By popular demand, I now offer selected images as fridge magnets and bookmarks.

The magnets measure 2-inches by 3-inches and adhere to most metal surfaces. I have made some of my most popular designs into fridge magnets, especially those with the theme of eating and diets!

The bookmarks are also magnetic. They fold around the page of your book. The image is printed on both the front and back of the bookmark. Magnets are glued inside on opposing surfaces. When you close the bookmark around your page, the magnets snap together. The bookmark stays firmly in place and you will never lose it.

You will find these items under the orange tab labeled “Other Fun Stuff.” They make great little gifts and stocking-stuffers.

Custom Projects

This is where it gets fun! I love to work on custom projects...to help you design just the right card for your special event. I've done a lot of custom work including personalized birthday party invitations, wedding invitations, and holiday cards. Designs for other types projects, such as the soap labels shown below, are also possible. Charges for custom work include a design fee, plus the cost of the cards or prints. To request a bid for a personalized project, please send me an email describing your idea and timeframe.

You may also order any of the images in my greeting card portfolio with a personalized caption and/or inside message. This is a more cost-effective way to order custom cards. Because the design already exists, your design fee would be minimal. For example, many of my existing cards would make great party invitations and all of my holiday cards can be personalized to order. To explore this option, just drop me an email explaining what you need.

Specifications

Pam Bliss Cards are entirely handmade, by me! The images are printed on glossy photo paper, then carefully trimmed and mounted with acid-free adhesive on fine-quality note card stock. The cards are enjoyed by discerning gift givers and letter writers. They also look great framed.

In addition to greeting cards, all collage images and photographs shown on this site may be ordered as matted, hand-signed 11- x 14-inch prints, ready for framing.

Image size: 4- x 6-inches
Finished card size: 5¼- x 7-inches
Paper stock: Wausau Bright White 80 Pound Cover
Packaging: Cards are individually packaged with a white envelope in a sealed cellophane sleeve
Mailing: Cards conform to U.S. Postal Service size and weight standards and require one first-class stamp to mail in the United States
Captions: See descriptions of individual cards for details of card captions and inside messages

Prints

Image size: Approximately 7- x 9 1/2-inches; on the front, prints are hand-signed by the artist and labeled with the title and date of the print
Mat dimensions: 11- x 14-inches (fits standard-size frame)
